The Henny Swan Bar

Description: Today saw the opening of the Henny Swan in Henny Street Essex. Formerly owned by Punch Inns, the freeholders wanted to wind the clock back. The new Bar features a marriage of classic and contemporary styles.
All of the framed canvases are reproductions of Jon Constable paintings with the exception of the Mural. Permission for reproduction was kindly given by Gainsborough’s House.
The Clients also own three other establishments. The Cutter in Ely, The White Horse in Billericay, The Windmill in Orton Waterville.

The University Library Tearooms

Description: The University Library Tearooms were refurbished this year. There is enough capacity to seat around 110 users in the main Tearoom plus another 50 staff in the staff Tearoom. The food offering includes hot meals, sandwiches, drinks and snacks. Facilities are provided via a main service counter, a till point is included to one end. Hot drinks are provided via an independent arrangement located within the centre of the servery area. The bullet points below summarise the work that was undertaken:
    •Increased number of covers within the Readers Tearoom.
    •New dining tables and chairs to the Readers Tearoom.
    •New service point and tray collection point within the Readers Tearoom.
    •The existing ambient display unit was replaced with a new combined chilled and ambient display unit detailed to compliment the new dado panelling.
    •New simulated wood-strip to the Readers Tearoom, servery area and Staff Tearoom.
    •New vinyl safety flooring to the rear of the servery area.
    •Rationalisation of the Staff Tearoom layout.
    •New dining tables and chairs to the Staff Tearoom.
    •New sofa's within a 'Lounge' area within the Staff Tearoom.
    •New carpeted area to the lounge zone of the Staff Tearoom.
    •New service point and tray collection point within the Staff Tearoom, served with a sink with hot /cold water, water point and microwave.
    •Additional storage unit/ service point to the Readers Tearoom.
    •The perimeter of the rooms were finished with new light Oak dado height panelling.

Dental Practice Reception

Description: Design and supply of new joinery items for a Dental Practice based in Saffron Walden. Initially visuals were prepared to illustrate the proposal. On this occasion the budget was limited, careful selection of well priced materials and products was paramount. Items supplied included a wall frame to take graphic panels, retail display unit, reception desk and related storage units to the rear of the desk.
